Contrasting with traditional snap-rings that have ears or lugs, spiral-ring retaining devices have a smooth, uniform cross-section that lacks gaps or extra features. They’re installed into a pre-made cut on a shaft or into a pre-made hole on a bearing’s axis in order to maintain the stability of the bearing, gear, sleeve, and other parts that are assembled.
